Elina Afentaki is the Poet of the Week on Voice of Greece

A Greek poem each day travels across the frequencies of Voice of Greece, reaching the far corners of the world wherever Greek voices can be heard.

The week from September 22- 28 September 2024, is dedicated to the poet Elina Afentaki.

Elina Afentaki was born and lives in Athens. In 1998, her first book, the novella “Quiet, Aunt Lena is Sleeping”, was published by Tsoukatos Publications. In 2018, her first poetry collection “Icebreaker” was released by Thraka Publications, followed by her second poetry collection “From Salt” in March 2024, published by Thines. Some of her lyrics have been set to music by Giorgos Andreou. Her poems have been published in anthologies and online literary magazines.
