Manolis Mavromatakis visits “Our Town” | 31 Mar. 2025, 22:00

Our Town” welcomes the award-winning and multi-talented actor Manolis Mavromatakis for an engaging conversation with host Themis Rodamitis on Monday, March 31, at 10:00 PM (Athens time).

Mavromatakis will reflect on key moments from his career in theater, cinema, and acting education, offering insights into the significance of the Greek language, the transformation from “I” to “we,” and the importance of preserving Greece’s cultural heritage. He will also address the barriers created by violence and division that hinder the emergence of a conscious and engaged citizen.

The discussion will explore the necessity of advocacy in culture, economy, philosophy, the environment, and human relationships—so that politics can reclaim its deeper meaning. The show will also highlight his thoughts on Loukis Laras by Vikelas, Mataroa, and My Enemy, shedding light on his experience in these significant works.

Mavromatakis will share his perspectives on the power of sound and silence, mortality, and his strong stance against what he calls the “violence of mediocrity.” He will also discuss his love for radio and literature, along with his favorite islands and cities.
