Unknown stories from WWII about Greek shipping, Greece’s involvement in the war, the German bombing of the ship ELLAS in Piraeus, the significance of Greece’s merchant and military ships, and the contribution of Greeks in Egypt to the Battle of El Alamein and their collaboration with Allied forces.

These topics will be featured in the special broadcast of “Fair Winds and Following Seas”, hosted by Antonis Karagiannakis on Voice of Greece, on Ohi Day, Monday, October 28, from 07:00 to 09:00 Athens time.

The program will also include contributions from professors and historians discussing the meaning and significance of this national anniversary today.
