Voice of Greece bids farewell to Michalis Ganas

Voice of Greece pays tribute to the esteemed poet and lyricist Michalis Ganas, who recently passed away.

Today, Tuesday, November 12, at 6:00 PM Athens time, Alexis Kostas will host a special segment on the show “Voices and Music” dedicated to the remarkable work of Ganas, featuring beloved songs set to his lyrics by renowned composers.

Additionally, tonight at 9:00 PM Athens time, listeners of ERT’s global radio service will have the opportunity to hear a replay of the two-hour tribute originally curated by Themis Rodamitis on the program “Our Town,” featuring Ganas himself. This special broadcast includes contributions from literary figures Vangelis Hadjivassiliou, Yiannis Efstathiadis, and Nasos Vagenas, along with musicians Giorgos Dalaras, Dimitris Papadimitriou, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Nikos Kypourgos, and Nikos Xydakis. Notably, the tribute includes readings of Ganas’ poetry by actress Olia Lazaridou and Ganas himself.
