The beloved Greek actor and author Stelios Mainas takes the helm of the program “Fair Winds and Following Seas – Saturday Shift” on Voice of Greece, this Saturday, 18 October 2025, at 08:00 Athens time, on the occasion of the release of his new book “Arodou”, published by Psychogios Publications.
Mainas dedicates the book, with deep respect and affection, to the people of the sea – sailors and ship workers. A captain’s son himself, with roots from Syros, he has many relatives and friends who are seafarers.
Speaking about “Arodou”, he notes that seafarers, both old and new, will see much of themselves and their souls reflected in its pages.
During the conversation, he also reflects on the meaning of “letters” in his childhood – those precious times when he received a letter from his father, often accompanied by a photograph from the ship or the port city where he was stationed.
