Aliki Kayaloglou visits “Our Town” | 25 May 2025, 12:00

This Sunday, “Our Town” with Themis Rodamitis welcomes one of the most iconic voices of Greek music: Aliki Kayaloglou.

In an intimate and wide-ranging conversation, the acclaimed performer reflects on the key moments of her recording career, the repertoire she chose to bring to life, and the distinctive theatricality that defined her interpretations. She shares her deep love for theatre, poetry, and the visual arts, her favorite cities and travels, and the artists who inspired and shaped her path.

The broadcast includes a heartfelt tribute to her creative bond with Manos Hadjidakis, who recognized her unique talent early on and encouraged her to expand into new artistic realms—most notably supporting her first theatrical endeavor in 1990 with Le Bel Indifférent by Jean Cocteau. She will also speak about her collaborations with Mikis Theodorakis, Houliaras, and others who left a lasting mark on her work.

Special attention is given to her groundbreaking performances at Café Parastasi, which became a cultural touchstone for lovers of contemporary Greek song.

The episode will feature selected recordings from Aliki Kayaloglou’s rich and storied career.
