The Voice of Greece program “Fair Winds and Following Seas – Saturday Shift” marks International Women’s Day, celebrated on 8 March, with a special two-hour broadcast dedicated to the role and contribution of women in shipping.
Host Antonis Karagiannakis welcomes the following guests:
- Georgia Maniati, Governor of the NAT (Seamen’s Pension Fund)
- Samantha Lourantou, Purchasing Manager at Atlantic Bulk Carriers Ltd and Treasurer of WISTA Hellas
- Evangelia Andrikopoulou, Radio Officer
- Ioanna Tzovara, Second Officer / Port Captain
Each guest explains her role and field of work in shipping and reflects on the challenges she faced—if any—at the beginning of her career in what until recently was a male-dominated sector. They speak about their professional journey in maritime affairs and how they decided to pursue a career in shipping.
An engaging discussion that will certainly shed light on the contribution of women to the remarkable course of Greek merchant shipping in recent years. Tune in!
