On Friday, 29 May 2026, at 22:00 Athens time, Voice of Greece and the program “Greek Jazz Players” once again invite listeners to their established monthly radio rendezvous with Greek composers and representatives of the Greek jazz scene, who improvise and present their own original works every last Friday of the month.
This time, Pantazis Tsaras welcomes saxophonist — and much more — Sokratis Votskos and his quintet to Studio C of the ERT Musical Ensembles.
The program features compositions by Giorgos Pappas and Sokratis Votskos, as well as collaborative works by the musicians themselves. These are creations that matured through their collaboration and their life on the beautiful island of Samos. Sounds that transport listeners to landscapes of Athens, as well as to the island of Pythagoras.
The musicians draw inspiration from Greece, the Mediterranean, and the East.
The ensemble consists of:
• Sokratis Votskos – flute, saxophone, and duduk
• Giorgos Pappas – oud
• Andreas Papagiannakopoulos – electric guitar
• Andrew Foreman – electric bass
• Konstantinos Lefas – drums
