“The Rock Song of Our Tomorrow”: Translating the world of Dionysis Savvopoulos | 26 Oct. 2025, 11:00 am

This Sunday, VoG’s English language show, “Infinitely Curious” with Katerina Batzaki, tunes into the voice — and the vision — of one of Greece’s greatest musical storytellers: Dionysis Savvopoulos.

For over sixty years, he has sung of rebellion, tenderness, and the Greek soul in motion — mixing rock with rebetiko, humor with heartbreak, and poetry with politics.

Joining Katerina Batzaki is David Connolly, the British translator who brought Savvopoulos’s lyrics into English through his book “The Rock Song of Our Tomorrow.” Together, they explore how a song can travel across borders — and how translation becomes an act of love, rhythm, and belonging.

Produced and presented by Katerina Batzaki
Broadcast: Sunday 26 October 2025, 11:00-12:00 am. Athens time
