WWF Greece discusses marine life on “Saturday Shift” | 30 May 2026, 08:00

Michalis Margaritis, Fisheries Officer at WWF Greece, WWF Greece associate Nicole Gonchil, and chef Giorgos Tsoulis are guests of Antonis Karagiannakis on Saturday, 30 May 2026, at 08:00 Athens time, on the Voice of Greece program “Fair Winds and Following Seas – Saturday Shift.”

The discussion focuses on the rich marine biodiversity of the Greek seas, the “alien” fish species that have appeared in Greek waters in recent years, and the species threatened by climate change and rising sea temperatures. Special emphasis is placed on the Fish Guide and the importance of sustainable fishing practices and the protection of marine ecosystems.

The guests also discuss WWF Greece initiatives aimed at protecting Posidonia seagrass meadows, as well as the need to preserve marine flora and fauna.

At the same time, chef Giorgos Tsoulis shares useful cooking tips and suggestions for preparing new fish species that have recently appeared in Greek seas.
