Mr. Theodoros Theodorou, Ambassador (hon.) and Senior Official of the Foreign Affairs Institute, was a guest today on the program “Greece in the World” with Giorgos Dionysopoulos, where he spoke about the upcoming 5th International Conference on Religious Diplomacy, titled:
“The Christians of Syria: Developments and Prospects.”
The conference will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the King George Hotel, Syntagma Square, Athens. It is organized by the Foreign Affairs Institute (www.fainst.eu) and is held with the blessing of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
Keynote speaker, representing His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, is the Very Reverend Archimandrite Isidoros Katsos, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Theology, University of Athens.

– Archimandrite Meletius Shattahi, representative of the Patriarch of Antioch
– Ioannis Loverdos, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
– Evripidis Stylianidis, former Minister and Professor of International Relations

– Georgios Kalantzis, Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs

The conference will explore critical issues such as:
– Regime change and social peace in Syria
– Syria’s role in stabilizing the Middle East
– The current state of Christians in Syria
– Hellenism and the Patriarchate of Antioch
