The President of the Greek Community of Melbourne, Bill Papastergiadis, spoke on Voice of Greece and the show “Greece in the World” with Giorgos Dionysopoulos. The occasion was the “Antipodes” festival which will take place for the 36th year in the heart of Melbourne, on Lonsdale Street, next weekend, on February 25th and 26th.

“This weekend Melbourne is dressed in Greek colors. We are talking about a festival that gathers more than 600 artists, 90 pavilions, three platforms, dance and music groups, theaters, food and much more,” he said. Papastergiadis, noting that this is the only festival in Melbourne that shuts down the city center for an entire weekend.

As he said, the festival is expected to exceed 100-150 thousand visitors, most of whom are not of Greek origin but who have loved Greek culture, dance, music and all that our country represents.
