Captain Aristides Grigoratos shares his story on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece.
“Ships and shipping were an easy solution for the conditions of that time, but at the same time, they were a difficult path due to the harsh conditions on the vessels of that era. I wanted to become a shipbuilder—this also has to do with the sea—but in the end, I was captivated by the ships and the command of a vessel. I have no regrets about that decision,” he reflects.
Captain Aristides continues to serve the maritime industry from a different, yet equally interesting and dynamic position. “From 1973 to 1998, I was at sea. From 1998 to 2012, I worked in shipping companies, in operations, and from 2012 to today, I have been part of the training center of a major shipping company, offering training with the knowledge and experience I have acquired.”
