The second lieutenant, Captain Dimitris Kamvitis travels us today in his own spontaneous and youthful way on “FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS” and the VOICE OF GREECE.
Originally from Zagori, Pelion, Captain Dimitris embarked because he wants to “command big things”. When asked what the sea is to him, he tells us that: “The sea is freedom and tranquility. I like to be between sky and sea and gaze and enjoy the endless blue of the sea.”
He tells us nice stories from Brazil, Argentina, Northern Russia and China, such as from the port of Jiangyin, where he was a cadet and the ship was in a shipyard, they found in the middle of nowhere a Greek who had a café-bar nearby with his Chinese wife Linda.
The show ”Fair Winds and Following Seas” with Antonis Karagiannakis is dedicated to Greek seafarers, featuring stories of their day-to-day lives, live testimonies, and connections with Greek ocean liners sailing across the world’s oceans.
