Another meeting with the musicians of the Greek jazz scene of the past, present and future was hosted in Studio B of the Greek Radio and the Music Ensembles, by Pantazis Tsaras and the show “Greek Jazz Players on the Voice of Greece”. The trio of the multidimensional pianist, composer and improviser Stathis Anninos, who together with the charismatic Kostis Patsiotis (double bass) and George Kosteletos (drums), performed both new material and selections from the pianist’s personal album “Anthology” [2021], as well as covers of favorite themes, from a broad musical spectrum.The trio’s music is a melting pot of different musical worlds and sounds, inspired by classical music, the European jazz idiom, improvisation and idioms from the soundscape of the Mediterranean. Elements that are crystallized and find expression in a concentrated sound that is rich in contrasts and, in many cases, has a cinematic quality.
