A statement from the Ministry of Culture: “Dimos Moutsis was one of the most important composers of the post-war era, with an irreplaceable and acknowledged contribution to the renewal of Greek song. With a solid music education, he leaves behind a work characterized by the continuous elaboration of his expressive means and by a constant experimentation in new sounds, ending up, very often, in an impeccable osmosis of the popular with the contemporary. Dimos Moutsis set to music, with great success, the works of leading contemporary poets and collaborated with the leading performers and lyricists of his time, before taking on these roles himself, marking a remarkable turn in his creative path”.
