Gidiki band was created in Thessaloniki in 2014. At that time Tasos Kofodimos, Filippos Fasoulas, Konstantinos Lazos and Kostantis Papakonstantinou started experimenting by arranging traditional pieces. The band uses traditional instruments, such as the lute, the clarinet, the violin and the percussion, but overall maintains a more modern approach to tradition.
Now, Transidelia is a much more experimental band, also led by Papakonstantinou. The choice of combining the electric element with traditional instruments creates a hybrid spectrum that overcomes the rustiness of the past and results in an unorthodox sound effect. The band connects heterogeneous elements from local musical traditions in a psychedelic interplay.
