George Dalaras and a new voice – Aimilia Kouyoumtzi – interpret the verses by poet George Themelis set to music by Stavros Kouyumtzis. Listening to “Helioscope”, it is very difficult to distinguish the elements that are superior in its structure. It is a work of popular music, which is overflowing with poetry, power and Greekness. Even its composer himself – as he told us – didn’t have a specific goal when he wrote it. He just wanted to create something completely new, “that speaks first to his own soul”. Thus, the first elements that one can find in “Helioscope” are the composer’s childhood experiences from the Holy Week, tightly bound with human and erotic elements at the same time… (From the 1973 press release of the album ‘Helioscope’)
