Ifigenia Korologou is a performer and songwriter. She was born and raised in Piraeus and at the age of 18 she started contemporary singing lessons at the National Conservatory with Mary Esper and then with Martha Morelon. At the same time, she took lessons in music theory and classical guitar. In 2005, she attended musical theater seminars with Stamatis Kraounakis and then collaborated on stage with many performers and creators, most notably Lakis Pappas, who singled her out as his permanent associate in the last years of his career. Eftychia Mitritsa recalls: “I grew up surrounded by music, with two parents who were fanatical listeners, and with origins that had poured folk and rebetika songs in me. Along with my Western conservatory education and my studies at the university, the status of a singer always weighed more heavily on me. My creative side was awaken much later, when I felt the need to identify with a new repertoire that would express me”.
