Yorgos Kazantzis, one of the most important Greek composers, was born and raised in Thessaloniki, in the Kalamaria area. He has had numerous collaborations with prominent singers such as Dimitris Zervoudakis, Melina Kana and Pantelis Theoharidis, and has offered us some of the greatest art song collections over the years. At the same time, Kazantzis’ discography includes a series of highly successful orchestral albums such as “Seasons”, “Sorocos”, “Serra” and “Faux Bijoux”, while instrumental pieces of his have been included in prestigious international collections. With or without lyrics, his work constitutes an entire proposal over what modern Greek music may signify today.
