Our Greek expatriate Penny Pavlaki from Australia, soprano – founder of the concerts of Greek artists, was a guest today on “Take Your Time” with Prokopis Angelopoulos, on the occasion of the organization of two concerts dedicated to the legendary Greeks of the 20th century, on Saturday 20 April in Sydney and Friday 10 May in Melbourne.
The 100 years of Greek influence in contemporary music are celebrated, by the great diva Maria Callas, the world-famous artists Nana Mouskouri and Demis Roussos, the songwriter of the 70s Cat Stevens, the pop legend George Michael, in a magnificent concert with over 50 musicians and dancers. The concert pays tribute to the great creators, M. Theodorakis, M. Hatzidakis, M. Plessas, S. Kazantzidis, Ch. Alexiou, Marinella, G. Dalaras and others, combined with the best Greek-Australian singers, dancers and musicians.
The curator and coordinator for this brilliant and ambitious production was Mrs. Pavlaki.
