The 82nd anniversary of “NO” was commemorated on the October 28th show “Journeys basking in Greek light” with Giannis Papoutsakis, featuring the chronicle of the day, the Metaxas-Graci meeting, the proclamations of Metaxas and King George II, the voice of radio announcer Kostas Stavropoulos announcing the declaration of war, the headlines of the newspapers and how the Athenians lived on that day that had the character of a celebration. Featuring accounts by Seferis, Vlachos, Terzakis, Paleologos and others. Featuring music and songs from the poetic cycles “Axion Esti” by Mikis Theodorakis-Odysseas Elytis, “Katachnia” by Christos Leontis-Kostas Virvos, and readings of texts by Nikiforos Vrettakos and “Albania” by Katsaros-Pythagoras.
