On the last Friday of each month, Greek jazz players improvise from Studio B of ERA’s Music Ensembles for the global audience of “Voice of Greece”, led by host Pantazis Tsaras.
On Friday, January 31st, the jazz music gathering will featured the trio of guitarist and composer Lefteris Chavoutsas: Lefteris Chavoutsas on guitars, Petros Varthakouris on electric bass, and Angelos Polychronou on cajón.
Pantazis Tsaras engaged in conversation with all three musicians, discussing music in general as well as the compositions they perform, mainly those of Lefteris Chavoutsas. His guitar-driven melodies intertwine elements of folk music, flamenco, and Latin American sounds, creating a distinctive sensitivity. Highlights include pieces such as Sayat, Anthos tis Stachtis (The Flower of Ash), Nykta (Night), and more.
