The first historical goal of the Greek National Team was scored by a player from Iraklis, of Jewish descent, Alvertos Namias. It was April 7, 1929, at Leoforos Alexandras when the Greek National Team hosted the second team of the Italian National Team. Namias scored the only Greek, winning goal in front of 20,000 spectators, including Mussolini’s daughter.
