Captain Adamantios Zografakis on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” | 19 Jan. 2026

Captain Adamantios Zografakis, originally from Heraklion and now a resident of Thessaloniki, speaks on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” and Voice of Greece.

With his own charismatic style, he recounts three incredible stories from the 32 years he spent sailing on various ships across the world’s seas and ports.

In the first story, he talks about the Epiphany celebrations in Hamburg, where the Cross was thrown into the icy waters of the harbor and the many Greeks who were present.

In the second story, he tells us about the dense fog they dealt with from Gibraltar to the Adriatic, without the aid of radar.

In the third story, he shares the touching moment when an American grain producer in Texas visited the vessel during loading, washing with the old green soap that reminded her of her grandmother, which brought her to tears.
