On Christmas Day, 25 December 2025, we set stories gently aside and make space for sound — for those sounds that return each December like an old friend: Christmas carols.
In this festive episode of “Ariadni’s Thread”, a special live performance brings carols to life as we love them most: through warm voices, traditional instruments, and that quiet glow that makes each note feel like a breath of light in the depth of winter.
Together with the women’s ensemble Erriza — Konstantina Asvesta (oud), Effi Keramyda (oud), Nadia Mantellou (lute), Effi Pasiou (violin), Effi Roumelioti (santouri), with guest vocalist Christina Chrysaki — we explore the roots of this ritual, the stories woven into its melodies, and the ways tradition continues to coexist with everyday life and the poetry of the contemporary city. Above all, we listen to carols from every corner of Greece, revealing a shared heritage shaped by place, memory, and voice.
