Stefanos Gkikas, Greece’s Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, speaks at the presentation of the 4th Exhibition on Maritime Employment organized by Greece’s Seafarers’ Pension Fund.
He discusses the exhibition’s key findings, which outline the profile of the Greek shipping sector’s workforce in 2025, examine recent initiatives undertaken by European Union institutions in the field of maritime employment, and highlight the role of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in promoting the development and protection of human resources in the maritime labor market.
The exhibition reaffirms the Fund’s commitment to fostering informed public dialogue on the challenges facing the Greek maritime labor market and the policies needed to address them.
