Evi Gerasimou, HELMEPA’s communications officer, joined “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece to discuss HELMEPA Junior’s educational book “By a Thousand Waves…”
Gerasimou explained that the book’s title was chosen through an open competition involving more than 3,500 children from across Greece. The book serves as an open exhibition of visual art and a teaching resource. It will be distributed free of charge to all kindergartens and primary schools in the country.
She also spoke about the work, history, development, and contribution of HELMEPA, the world’s first private voluntary organization dedicated to protecting the marine environment, founded in 1982 by Greek shipowners and seafarers.
