Today on the program, we had the pleasure of welcoming live in the studio the multifaceted artist Chrysostomos Kalogridakis — tenor, guitarist, and composer — together with the groundbreaking contemporary lyrical-folk ensemble Faretra Crystalina.
They introduced us to a refined sonic universe where the lyricism of classical music and the energy of rock intertwine with traditional melodies from around the world, demonstrating that the global musical creation of the past millennium forms one unified and indivisible tradition.
Chrysostomos Kalogridakis took us back to 2016, when the core of the ensemble was formed together with soprano Thaleia Moutopoulou, and explained how “Crystal Quiver” uses the human voice as the ultimate vehicle for profound emotion.
We spoke about their eclectic repertoire, spanning the depths of Greek tradition to the melodies of the Mediterranean, Celtic culture, Latin America, and even Sweden and Japan.
