The Dormition of the Virgin Mary, on August 15, is a major religious holiday. It is also a name day for several names including Maria, Mary, Panagiota and Despina. Here, at GME, we shall be celebrating together with all these people, listening to songs that refer to their names. Maria who was laughing, Despinaki – Despinio, Maria with the yellow dress, Maria-Maraki-Mario, and many others! Once again, we are invited to celebrate the wealth and inventiveness of Greek song and of talented artists such as Costas Tournas, Afroditi Manou, Giannis Giokarinis, Manolis Rasoulis and Giannis Zouganelis.
