In the third and final part of the program’s tribute, on Saturday, August 16, we examined the social and political dimensions of the Greek panigyri: Does panigyri have a political character? What happens with the panigyri of minorities? Can a panigyri be an expression of identity, but also a tool for local development?
With songs from all over Greece, stories and dances, “Historical Walks” celebrate the Greek panigyri, not as a tourist attraction, but as a living experience, like an organism that breathes and evolves over time.
