On Tuesday, 8 July, 2025, the program “Human Landscapes” with Viktoria Kavouriari welcomed Christos Ioannidis, Physics teacher at the Music High School of Pallini and founder of Schoolwave Festival — the nationwide music festival for high school and university student bands, held every year in Athens since 2005.
Just before this year’s Schoolwave Festival – powered by DEI, which will take place at Technopolis City of Athens with free admission on 11–12–13 July (celebrating 20 years since its very first edition), Christos Ioannidis took us on a journey through classrooms, schoolyards, and student bands, and talks to us about today’s school life – its problems, its challenges, and the dreams of its students.
A secondary education teacher for 35 years, with a deep love for science, music, and teaching — and above all, a love for young people — our guest talked about what it means to be a teacher today, what it means to be a student, how to respond to school bullying, and, of course, how to create a successful music festival by, for, and with students.
