Kastellorizo Deputy Mayor Stratos Amygdalos speaks on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece.
The announcement of a €5,000 financial incentive for people interested in settling and working on Kastellorizo has drawn a strong response.
“Interest has come from both Greece and abroad, with people contacting the town hall to ask about eligibility requirements and how the scheme will work. Those who have expressed interest include people over 50, younger people, and families considering a permanent move to the border island. Some are interested in working in food service or starting their own businesses,” Mr. Amygdalos says.
“The municipality is now awaiting the relevant decisions and guidance from the responsible ministries so that it has the details of how the scheme will be implemented and can provide accurate information to the public,” he adds.
He also discusses the main issues facing his beloved island, its festivals, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s recent visit, and more.
