“Things have become more difficult—and will become even more so—due to geopolitical developments and everything unfolding worldwide, such as the war in Ukraine, Greenland and President Trump’s expansionist ambitions, the volatile situation in Iran, and the power games being played in the Black Sea and the Red Sea,” notes maritime analyst John Faraclas, sounding an SOS in his own distinctive way. Mr. Faraclas is a lecturer in maritime studies at educational institutions, an author, and co-founder of allaboutshipping.co.uk.
Speaking on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece, he emphasized, among other points, that “we must have a plan to emerge from this global crisis. In these difficult days the world is experiencing, I believe the Third Industrial Revolution is beginning.”
Mr. Faraclas also spoke about the current needs of Greek merchant shipping, the state of shipbuilding and ship repair, and the education and training of maritime students in Greece.
