Nektarios Demenopoulos on the New Piraeus Port Authority Park | 05 May 2026

Nektarios Demenopoulos, Head of Public and Investor Relations at Piraeus Port Authority (PPA S.A.), spoke on “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece.

“The sea, to which Greeks are deeply connected, offers life and employment to countless people. It connects ports and countries around the world commercially, economically, and culturally, bringing growth and prosperity,” he noted.

Mr. Demenopoulos presented and guided listeners through the new PPA Park project, describing it as “an investment in Piraeus centered on people and quality of life — a landmark for everyone, strengthening the connection between the port, the city, and its residents.” The project concerns a modern, open 12,000-square-meter public space with parking facilities, designed to become a meeting point for recreation and creative activities for visitors of all ages.

The new PPA Park, currently under construction within the port zone in the cruise terminal area, is envisioned as an open, safe, and fully accessible space for leisure and sports activities, welcoming all citizens, including people with disabilities.

A state-of-the-art playground will provide a modern and creative environment for children of all ages, while a dedicated cycling lane will promote environmentally friendly transportation and sustainable mobility.

This year, Piraeus Port Authority marks ten years of cooperation with COSCO SHIPPING — a partnership that has significantly strengthened the international position of the Port of Piraeus, contributed to the growth of the Greek economy, and generated substantial benefits for society and local communities.
