PASOK Member of the European Parliament Sakis Arnaoutoglou takes the helm of the program “Fair Winds and Following Seas” on Voice of Greece. He speaks about the importance of Greece’s islands and islets, which define the borders of the European Union and have become especially significant in light of current geopolitical developments on the global stage.
He also refers to coastal fisheries, a key pillar of local economies, social cohesion and food security in many coastal and island regions of Greece and Europe. “The people of the sea are calling for fair terms, sustainable policies and genuine support. Europe must listen to their voice,” the MEP notes.
Mr Arnaoutoglou highlights in the European Parliament the issues facing the Greek periphery, island and coastal regions, as well as the productive sectors that form a fundamental pillar of the local economy.
