“Fair Winds and Following Seas – Saturday Shift”, hosted by Antonis Karagiannakis, welcomes Ioannis Golias, Governor of the Eugenides Foundation and Head of the Foundation’s Publications Committee, on the occasion of the Foundation’s 70th anniversary.
A civil engineer, former Rector of the National Technical University of Athens, former caretaker minister, and internationally recognized researcher, Yannis Golias speaks about the history and evolution of the Eugenides Foundation, as well as its landmark publications, which have supported generations of students and professionals in maritime education.
He also reflects on his own professional path, which ultimately led him to the Eugenides Foundation, and encourages young people to pursue careers in shipping, while discussing the new skills and technological developments shaping the future of the maritime sector.
At the same time, he refers to the Foundation’s anniversary events, current initiatives, and new projects, including the Institute for Training and Skills Development, the Foundation’s collaboration with CERN, and many other activities.
