The Governor of DYPA, Spyros Protopsaltis, on “Greece in the World” | 21 May 2025

Following the successful outreach events organized by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, and London—with the participation of more than 4,000 Greeks living abroad who are interested in returning to their homeland—the next event will take place in May in Stuttgart.

Specifically, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security and the Public Employment Service (DYPA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are organizing a new international Career Day in Stuttgart on Saturday, 31 May 2025. The event will begin at 10:00 with a presentation on the current state of the Greek labor market and will run until 18:00, at the Maritim Hotel Stuttgart (Seidenstraße 34, 70174 Stuttgart).

It is worth noting that the “Rebrain Greece” initiative of the Ministry promotes the repatriation of talent and specialized professionals, aiming to utilize their skills in the Greek economy.

The event is designed to connect Greeks living and working abroad with leading companies operating in Greece, offering opportunities for professional reintegration and potential return.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet directly with company representatives—without the need for scheduled appointments—and to learn about the prospects currently offered by the Greek labor market.

“The labor market in Greece today is entirely different from what it was five years ago. Unemployment has dropped by 50 percent—the largest decrease in Europe—from 18% to 9%,” said Mr. Spyros Protopsaltis, Governor of DYPA, speaking on Voice of Greece and the program “Greece in the World” with Giorgos Dionysopoulos. He added that over 500,000 new jobs have been created.

“We are seeing growth in GDP and the broader economy. Overall, we are in a dynamic phase of economic development in Greece, and we are trying to inform people that there are now many prospects and solid professional opportunities in the country.”

According to Mr. Protopsaltis, a total of 30 dynamic companies will participate in the Stuttgart event. These include businesses from key sectors of the Greek economy such as energy, healthcare, infrastructure, education, industry, banking, technology, and commerce, all seeking skilled personnel.

“There are many sectors currently experiencing growth and momentum, which appeals to many people. Career Days are not limited to just one or two fields. They are not exclusively aimed at university graduates or high school leavers but are designed to accommodate all skill levels and nearly every sector of the economy,” he noted.

Participation in the event is free and open to all interested parties. For better organization and timely access to information, those interested are encouraged to register through the online platform: https://www.eventora.com/el/Events/imera-karieras-dypa-stuttgart-2025

It is also worth noting that on Friday, 23 May, and Saturday, 24 May, additional Career Days will take place at the Peristeri Exhibition Center in Athens, where more than 200 companies will be recruiting for over 6,000 job openings.
