On Monday, 02 February 2026, on the program “Wander Words”, Serifos was presented as a place of memory.
A land excavated from within — by labour without rights, lives left unrecorded, and stories consigned to silence.
On the occasion of her book In the Bowels of Serifos: Testimonies of the Last Living Mine Workers, ERT journalist Alexandra Christakaki brought to light the testimonies of mine workers and their descendants. Not to provoke easy emotion, but to remind us what justice means when it comes late.
