Olympic weightlifting champion Giorgos Tzelilis spoke on Voice of Greece and the program “Greece in the World”, presented by journalist Giorgos Dionysopoulos, about the ongoing effort to create an Olympic Museum in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia.
As Mr. Tzelilis noted, the Museum — expected to be inaugurated next May — represents a major social, cultural, athletic, and political milestone, bringing both Olympism and Greece to the forefront of international attention.
The Metropolitan of Zambia and Mozambique, His Eminence Ioannis, also contributed to the discussion, emphasizing that from January 2026, with the support of the Church, the Patriarchate of Alexandria, the Hellenic State, and the Ionian University, a Chair of Hellenic Studies will also begin operating in Lusaka.
