Popi Aroniada was born in Limeri, Evrytania, and has lived in Athens since her early teenage years. She studied accounting and attended courses in psychology. She has worked in the field of mass media.
She has published several poetry collections, a novel, and a short story collection. Her poetry collection Roké was translated into Polish by Ares Chadzinikolaou. Portions of the same book were translated into English by Katerina Anghelaki-Rooke and published under the title Castling (Koinonia ton Dekaton Editions, 2021). In 2025, an anthology of one hundred of her poems was translated into Romanian by Dimitris Kanellopoulos and released by Casa Cartii De Stiinta.
She has received distinctions in international poetry competitions, including Mediterranean Poetry in Rome (2021), the Nikos Chadzinikolau Poetry Prize in Poznań, Poland (2021), and second prize in the 30th Premio Nosside in Calabria, Italy (2014). Her work has been translated into English, Italian, Polish, Ukrainian, Romanian, and French.
She is a member of the Circle of Poets, the Philological Association “Parnassos,” the Hellenic Theatre and Music Critics Association, and PEN Greece. She also leads the committee for imprisoned writers and serves on the judging panel for the Greek State Literary Awards.
