On Sunday, February 12th, in the framework of the series “Greeks of the World – Greece in Luxembourg”, presented by Efthymios Sipetzis, Linguist, Graduate of the University of Cambridge and Professor of Humanities in Luxembourg, the Ambassador of Greece in Luxembourg, Mr. Angelos Ypsilantis.
On the occasion of the event at the Embassy of Greece in Luxembourg on 01/25/2023 for the award of the Grand Cross of the Order of Honor to the Prime Minister of Luxembourg Mr. Xavier Bettel, we discuss the event with the Ambassador of Greece in Luxembourg, the relationship between Mr. Bettel with Greece, as well as on the transnational relations between Greece and Luxembourg over time. Mr. Ambassador shares incidents from the past and talks about future initiatives, the anthropogeography of Greeks in Luxembourg, and the relationship that is developing on multiple levels between Greeks in Luxembourg, the Embassy, and Greece. Finally, Mr. Ypsilantis looks back on his personal journey, talks about his experience in the Middle East and gives his valuable insight on the characteristics of a diplomat and the relationship between diplomacy and an academic approach to international relations.
