Voice of Greece radio honors the anniversary of the Distomo massacre through a commemorative radio documentary which takes the form of a shattering testimony, conveying the true proportions of the tragedy that took place in June 10, 1944, in the village of Distomo, in Boeotia.
ERT’s journalist Thomas Sideris met with Eleni, or ‘Nitsa’ Sfountouri, at her family home in Distomo, and she narrated the chronicles of the crime.
A few weeks after this this interview, Eleni Sfountouri passed away.
On Friday, June 9, the eve of this sad anniversary, the radio documentary will be broadcast on Voice of Greece, 13.00 – 14.00 Athens time.
