“Voices and Music” features a tribute to guitarist Yannis Spathas.
Yannis Spathas exhibited exuberant talent, exceptional craftsmanship, and an open mind, at a time when these things were by no means taken for granted. His goal was to play like Jimi Hendrix, he was very much influenced by the tradition of Epirus, and especially by Tasos Chalkias, and proof of this lies in his wonderful work “Mountains” – at a time when the stereotypes of rock fans had nothing to do with that.
Socrates’ drummer Makis Gioulis phones in to speak about the great musician.
