On Monday, December 18, at 19:00-20:00 Greece local time (with a rerun on Tuesday, December 19, at 05:00-06:00), the show “Our Town” presents Vivian Avraamidou-Ploumpi.

The eminent Cypriot award-winning author, who lives in Prague, talks about her rich literary work, for which she has received raving reviews, and especially about her latest book titled “Of Shame”, a series of short stories about people and characters in occupied Famagusta. The active Cypriot is constantly on a personal campaign to talk about the history of Cyprus, about Famagusta where she once lived, about the invasion that took place there and about all that ensued.

She explains how, through so many difficulties, there were people who fought and built their lives, believing that one day they could return to Famagusta. The author talks about her love of photography and how much it influenced her in writing her short stories. The show includes references of her life in Prague, about the activity of Greeks there, and especially of artists.

Vivian Avraamidou takes us on a long, imaginary walk in this city, bringing to life streets, buildings, theaters, cafes etc.

The show features music mainly from her hometown.
