The Perfect Soundtracks of Wim Wenders
“One of the discoveries of the road movies was not only that you could travel and work
and make a film at the same time,
but that rock and roll could also be, in the true sense, a driving force.”
— Wim Wenders
Do you know Wim?
He likes citiesand I like him.
— Sibylle Baier
Wim Wenders may not have won the foreign language film Oscar this year with his film Perfect Days, but he has, once again, the best soundtrack. And a film that has the ability to give the viewers a sense of transcendent happiness even after the end of its screening. “My Wandering Heart”, wanting to prolong this feeling for a while, makes a small tribute to Wenders and the music in his films, from Athens and Voice of Greece. The Kinks, Sibylle Baier, Lou Reed, Nick Cave and a few other friends of Wenders and artists he has a soft spot for, make up the atmosphere of happiness.
