Historical Walks: The History of Jazz (Part IΙ) | 18 May 2024, 13:00

The tribute to Jazz music continues on the show “Historical Walks” with Marilena Katsimi. Guitar teacher and author Angelos Gavriil will be invited to “Voice of Greece” on Saturday, May 18, to talk about modern Jazz, which caused a turning point in the history of music.

From the 1940s onwards through the swing era, Jazz became more experimental and less commercialized, more improvisational and less danceable.
Around the same period, the Civil Rights movement of African Americans in the US is being born and expressed through bebop, hard bob, cool and free jazz.
