“Narratives – Fairytales for children and grown-ups” | 25.05.2024, 17:00

The Children’s Hour“, the beloved Greek radio show of the ’50s and ’60s by the legendary “Aunt Lena“, was the work of pioneering educator Antigoni Metaxa. Very few know that in addition to the radio and television shows that made her famous, Mrs. Metaxa has also written several children’s books. One of these books has re-emerged in a new collector’s edition for the reading public. It is edited by Mrs. Metaxa’s granddaughter, Maria Iliou.

On Saturday, May 25, 2024, from 17:00 to 18:00 Athens time, the show “Narratives” – Fairy Tales for children and grown-ups” with Maria Karagiannaki presents the tale “The Child of the Lighthouse”, from Antigoni Metaxa’s book of fairy tales. In the narration, we hear the wonderful symphonic poem of Nikos Skalkotas, “The Sea”.
