Love in Sadness on “Voices and Music” | 12 Sept. 2024

The band Love in Sadness was formed in 1989 by Aris Tsoukandakis (vocals, guitar, drums), Stelios Tsoukandakis (bass), and Giannis Georgiadis (guitar). Since 1993, the drummer was Kyriakos Darivas, and since 1996, Christos Diakoumis has been the drummer.

The band members have also played with other groups over the years, including Motivo 4, Evnous, D-Volume (Aris), Netronio, D-Volume (Giannis), Magic de Spell, Evnous, D-Volume (Stelios), and Rodes (Christos). Since 1992, they have regularly collaborated with the band Apresarrostoi. In 1994, they performed at the International BAM Festival in Barcelona (representing ERT), and in 1996, they played with Paul Rodgers at Rodon, where they returned in 1997 to perform with The Stranglers. That same year, they appeared at the Rockwave Festival in Rizoupoli, alongside Flowers of Romance, Diaphana Krina, New Model Army, and Sisters of Mercy.

Discography includes three albums: Apples Istories (1993, Evdomi Diastasi), To Deftero Amartima (1997, Warehouse Records / Sony Music), and Katastasi Anagkis (2000, Warehouse Records). They have also released an EP (Piso ap’ ton Ilios, 1997, Warehouse Records), a maxi single (Daydreaming, 1993, Evdomi Diastasi), and music videos for the songs “Ti na po” (directed by Nikos Patrelakis, Dimitris Galanis), “Pes mou esi” (directed by Giorgos Melissinos), “Psili Kofi” (directed by Nikos Smaragdhs), “Tora” (directed by Vangelis Zisis), and “Mermigas” (directed by Aristotelis Papakonstantinou).

Recently, Love in Sadness has been preparing and gradually releasing new material. They have also organized an interesting live performance featuring both old and new songs, visual material, and guest appearances from other bands.
