Historical Walks: The evolution of Alzheimer’s disease until today | 21 Sept. 2024, 13:00

In honor of World Alzheimer’s Day (09/21), this Saturday “Historical Walks” will feature guest neurophysiologist Giannis Sotiropoulos to explore the phenomenon of Alzheimer’s disease, which is developing into a pandemic.
Starting with German psychiatrist Alois Alzheimer, the show will focus on the evolution of this mind-affecting disease from then until now, highlighting the connection between anxiety and depression with Alzheimer’s, as well as the social implications of dementia. With an emphasis on the continuous global rise in cases and the lack of effective treatment, the program, aimed at the general public, will discuss the challenges of caring for patients and their caregivers, the support structures offered for free, and the new research that promises therapeutic solutions through Precision Medicine.
